The long-awaited Federal Skilled Worker program stream that has been on pause since the Pandemic began is set to resume in or around July 2022 according to Immigration Minister Sean Fraser.
Invitations to apply under the FSW were put on pause due to the travel restrictions as a result of Covid-19. As a result, tons of backlog needed to be reduced. IRCC reported there were approximately 112,000 applications in September 2021 and this backlog was reduced to 48,000 as of March 2022, with a promise that come July, the 6-month processing timeframe will be reinstated.
